Plein-Air, and Learning New Things

Hello! I wanted to post about some of the new things I’ve been learning about painting! I’ve finally been able to go outside and join a few other artists in Plein-Air (painting outside!) and while it has its challenges, it has been helping me with my painting skills and re-learning how to see with an artist’s eye, mix the right colors, and play with shadows.

I’ve recently completed a painting titled “Colorado Peaks”. I think it’s my new favorite piece! It really portrays some of the new things I’ve been learning through other painters and plein-air artists on Youtube, and putting in a lot of painting hours! As an artist it can be difficult to really love what you make, as it is hard to manifest what you see and what you hoped to portray. In this piece I feel I am close to loving my own style!
